E-mail Message This Week .. Perfect Business Model
Most seminars geared to build a practice have this one common theme: a chiropractor should dwell on obtaining new patients. As a business, this makes sense but as a business model, it takes skill and dexterity especially if you wish to keep them and maintain and grow a healthy practice. A common theme with these e-mails is to dwell less on new ones and more on maintaining those you have. Referrals are the backbone of any sound and healthy business but as a healthcare provider it really offers our active patients an opportunity participate in extending wellness to their friends and family. Patients that feel they are an integral part of your practice will actively help you build and maintain it.
Another common theme within these e-mails is a strong work ethic and service. In my town, as in yours, people have many options for chiropractic care and spinal care offered by the medical and physical therapy community. Attracting your community to your office is best not by hit or miss but by design and word of mouth by your active patients or eye to eye community workshops or screenings is always best. It eliminates the unknown and usually answers questions prior to their first visit. A strong well adjusted practice begins with a strong foundation and thought. Practice management starts with patient management. Practice longevity starts with a clear purpose and planning. Practice success starts with a strong educated staff and patients.
Doctor, take a moment in this busy day and write down the hit and misses in your practice growth and maintenance. Don’t be shy asking for help, my website has a list of mentors offering help for free, or better yet, if you have the success thing down, help others. Take time discussing your concerns with staff and be sure you listen to theirs as well. Ask patients what they think and how best to expand chiropractic awareness to their family and friends and help them ergonomically where they work.
