Below is another e-newsletter I sent to my patient/community list. I am sharing this as well as some others for two reasons. One, please share these with your patient list and Two, I am traveling a lot this summer and may not have time to write a new one for my Friday chiropractor list.
Managing Chronic Pain

On average there over 33 million visits to a chiropractor each year. Chiropractic is the largest drugless healthcare profession in the world and are primary healthcare providers. Facts about chiropractic can be found here and here

My personal journey may be different than most. My first adjustment was in 1972 for chronic digestive issues not for back pain that usually brings folks to our office.  After suffering with years of ulcers, IBS and all the myriad of digestive complaints and seeing numerous medical specialists and taking various medications, I finally took the advice of a friend and was evaluated by a chiropractor, Dr. David Singer in New Jersey. The rest is history.

My approach adjusting is conservative using an adjusting technique called the Activator and gentle manipulation when needed, which is geared to remove pressure to the spinal region and the nervous system allowing the body to heal naturally and during the process the cause of chronic pain is reduced and hopefully eliminated.

Too often patients wait too long to reach out to a chiropractor and must learn to manage their condition (effect) rather than looking for the cause of their problem. The chiropractic analysis looks for imbalance within the spinal region and then adjusting the area to assist with mobility, reduce further instability, wear and tear and pain. You can help by being proactive by removing lifestyle areas of irritation, work ergonomics and begin the process of rehabilitation stretching
