Practice Perfect

There is nothing perfect in this world. I remember listening to a wise chiropractor who said you wanted to be near perfect rather than perfect for as a fruit ripens it begins to rot. So always hovering near ripeness or perfect is best.

In our chiropractic world, we should always strive for perfection in patient and staff management, technique and financial oversight. Patients receive their best care when we are relaxed and confident with our level of skill and being on top of it helps.

Considering that every dollar we generate is the result of patient outcomes and physical results, refreshing or learning new techniques to have within your toolbox is a must and if you are in the Atlanta area or wish to make it a travel day, I recommend highly the seminar above. I can assure you it will generate the excitement you felt as a student when your clinic patients found relief and the feeling of empowerment when you finally master the techniques you use today

A practice is a living organism prone to the environment we create. Our environment or workplace usually follows the guidance of others and depending on our financial strength and comfort level we'll plant the seeds of success within our community. When I graduated, eons ago, starting a new practice was like the blind leading the blind. College classes lacked the practical part of practice management so those that could afford it attended Parker and DE seminars with successful doctors sharing their experience but when you returned to the office on Monday, implementation was difficult.

A near perfect practice starts with a near perfect staff. It may start with one person answering the phone, managing fees and appointments gradually expanding to a multitasking team. Similar to our body, the nervous system of the office controlling and coordinating all aspects of the practice is you.

When looking in the mirror, who do you see, a leader or a follower. They need to follow but you need to lead. Striving to near perfection begins with you.

Practice management is sustained with solid procedures. Weekend or online seminars are worth every dollar if you listen and learn. Doctors who brought their staff to the meeting found implementation Monday morning easier as everyone is on the same page and goals being set can be met. Patient management is sustained when procedures are followed. Patients not following schedules will slip through the cracks and both revenue and patient results will suffer. Patients not educated can never tell your chiropractic story and referrals will be little to none. Being near perfect means sacrificing time to educate your staff and patients and have them reach out to others finding your practice grow.
