Working With a Gym
Within a residential community, you'll find various areas for retail trade. Enclosed malls are being replaced with outdoor space with unique vendors that offer potential interaction between your office and their clients.

An example is a local exercise facility. Their members are literally paying to be proactive with their wellness. This is your opportunity to offer the next step, chiropractic care. The game is to reach out to the facility with a proposal to either be their in-house chiropractor or offer their members a complimentary evaluation as a membership bonus.

Often national chains have corporate rules that may prevent easy access but possibly working with their local manager may make it happen. If you provide postural screenings, fitness assessments or consultations, be knowledgeable of their equipment and contraindications. If you have knowledge of exercise physiology this should be a no brainer but for the rest of us, a minimal knowledge can be found via a Google search.

As with all my e-mails, I am offering sound advice but may not be within your comfort zone or interest. That's okay but in the future you may take another look at the idea. So, let's explore some other ideas

If you have a green light from management be available weekly or twice a month for member evaluation and consultations. If they provide a dedicated room, spend 15 minutes to screen a member's spine and go over their concerns and goals. Create a sign up sheet for dedicated times and be sure to have them sign a standard HIPPA form for their protection and a waiver form to protect you from liability. Have a check box allowing you to share your findings with the training staff and they can take it from there.

Next, offer to provide wellness classes to their members. Since, I created a number of Powerpoint presentations, I was ready with Aging Gracefully classes for their senior members, Staying Fit While You Sit for their clerical members, Wellness with Nutrition, Stress Management and Women's Health. If promoted correctly with flyers and posters and sign up sheets, classes will be well attended.

I belong to an upscale fitness center, Lifetime Fitness, with their own in-house chiropractor. Dr. Vinita Gulati, above, is their chiropractor with an office providing adjustments, therapy and fitness assessments to members. Consider the convenience, work out and have an adjustment.
With Dr. Gulati's permission, you can contact her with any questions or ideas how she managed to get involved in this fitness center and what is involved: drvinigulati@gmail.com

Working with a gym is just another venue offering potential patients. Be sure to collect e-mail addresses to continue timely contact with these people as well as specific e-mails about physical stress involved in their work that they can share with their workmates. Be sure to have plenty of business cards and don't be shy to ask who they know that would also benefit with an evaluation or chiropractic care. This is another way to increase patient volume and boost your bottom line
In the Atlanta airport, as well as others, there are chiropractors available as well.
