| From: Dr. Margolies.. 8-12-22 www.familychirocenter.net   Thoughts Toward Success   I always enjoy discussing how to create a successful chiropractic career with students.  Life University has a number of clubs and programs offering students a head start if they wish to participate. One is PEAK, a senior student internship program working with a field doctor rather than in the student clinic. A few years ago, while introducing myself to potential PEAK students, I was asked if can mention one thing that led to my success as a chiropractor. Great Question. I hope you can put pen to paper or create the words of wisdom these students seek. Let’s start with Purpose.   Purpose:   Nothing is as powerful as belief. Chiropractic, although an art and science is also a philosophical entity. Daily affirmations, goal setting or whatever drives you towards success starts with simple action steps that keeps you on purpose.  Once you commit to Life and Health rather than Sickness and Disease; towards increased performance rather than suppressed physiological and neurological performance your train has left the station and you are on track towards success. Folks, we need strength in purpose to overcome the weakness of our patient’s knowledge of health, that dwells more on disease. Set a reachable goal, create the action steps towards it and keep the momentum going   Persistence:   With 44 years of experience, I imagine my early steps towards any success was probably persistence and follow through. Never letting my fears guide my goals, never doubting my drive to succeed and never looking at my bubble of comfort to stop me from reaching out. Failure is part of success but getting up and getting it right is also part of it. There are many doctors who may have achieved more monetary wealth, more material things and bigger and flashier practices but success is more than money and things. It is what you make it to be: satisfaction, achievement and comfort when you hang up the shingle. I am in the process of retiring, selling my practice and handing over a turn key clinic with happy patients, happy staff that will provide an on-going happy life. This is success  If interested in purchasing my practice reply back and we can go from there   Communicate .. Share and Care:   Graduating in the third class of Life College, June 1978, we graduates were like the blind leading the blind. I was lucky to be close to friends who followed the teachings of Dr. Sid Williams, founder and president of Life as well as DE, Dynamic Essentials. Dr. Sid knew that communications was the key to practice and patient compliance and reaching the patient’s core belief towards wellness and health was the key towards professional success. I followed their lead, attended DE and Parker, Singer and Fernandez weekend seminars and we shared our experiences that sped our collective wins. Nothing is as powerful as spreading the message. Regardless of how you practice, what techniques or adjunctive therapies and tools you use how you express to patients their need and bundle your purpose will enhance your practice success and patient compliance.   This is what I would share to a graduating chiropractic class:   Spend school time to hone your skills Technical ..
