| From: Dr. Margolies.. 11-4-22 www.familychirocenter.net         E-mail Message This Week .. What We Do   Over my years of practice, I created a list of conservative medical specialists that I refer patients when needed. The other day a patient with a number of issues required an orthopedic evaluation and after she returned after the visit and I asked how it went. The orthopedist, as I expected, was caring and the evaluation and advice was great but his physician’s assistant left a sour taste in both our mouths. The PA asked my patient why she even considered chiropractic care and wondered what I even did to help her and left the impression that chiropractic care was a waste of time. I have been treating this patient for years and she has received fantastic results and maintained her spinal wellness with monthly visits. Her recent auto collision prompted this referral and her reply to the PA was priceless, she told her that chiropractic care has kept her well and without it she would have been impaired for sure.   Not unusual to find the medical profession and the public have limited knowledge of chiropractic and paint a broad brush of ignorance. If they knew the reality of our results and knew the diversity of techniques and adjunctive methods for healing it would open their eyes and create a new flow of new patients, referrals our way.   So what can we do?   If you want to establish referrals from other healthcare providers begin a campaign to meet and greet. Begin by asking each patient who their primary care physician is. Create a spreadsheet of their specialties and contact numbers. Get their verbal permission to provide their PCP or specialist notes concerning their chiropractic care. Start with new patients sending a short report to their PCP with the reason for their care, what you expect and will do. Most PCP’s refer their patients to a physical therapist not to a chiropractor because they probably have no relationship with one, you just established one. Same for orthopedists they too may begin referring to you once they appreciate the results from their patients that have seen you as well   So, Start Telling Them What We Do     Postings This Week:   Established practice for sale in Tucker, metro Atlanta:   Turn key purchase with support from retiring doctor.
