Who would ever think that the number of new patients was limited. Marketing 101 dictates that reaching your public with our message of Health and Wellness rather than Sickness and Disease would resonate enough to bring new patients to your doorstep like the Pied Piper luring and charming their way in. Doctor, only 10 % of the American people are treated by a chiropractor annually that is about 30-40 million people. There is no lack of potential new patients, no reason to max out a community.     When I was younger, in the early years of practice, I was very energetic and aggressive to seek out new patients with topical community PowerPoint workshops, meeting the need of safety with local corporations presenting ergonomic and stress related classes, literally tripling my patient numbers within weeks, and that is no exaggeration. There is never a limit to new patients, never a maxed out community just a lack of vision or desire to reach out for more.   Just look around, every vehicle driving by has potential new patients, your postman, UPS driver, local shop keepers and those working out in the gym to stay healthy. They all need our gifted hands and the list goes on.  Demographics can be broken down to simply clerical, labor and residential. To breakdown these down, residential includes churches, schools, municipal employees, sport venues etc. Is there no way you can meet and greet their needs, some way to attract their attention towards wellness whether via a talk, a screening, participation in a Health Fair or whatever. There is never a limit to new patients, just a lack of will to create and follow through.     Tomorrow start surveying  your patients, ask where they work, what kind of work they do, is it nearby and can they find the person that will allow you present a Lunch and Learn, Safety, Stress and Ergonomic classes. If not, create a lunch time class in your office and lure them in with sandwiches to feed their body, soul and mind. Yes, it takes time, energy and will but if you feel your community is maxed out, it isn’t. Possibly you hate speaking before others, so hire someone a Marketing or Community Liaison will be worth the expense for sure.   Labor is a warehouse, supermarket or anyplace that creates physical stress with repetitive wear and tear. Is there anyone reading this that doesn’t have some proactive advice? Come on, google repetitive stress injuries and the lower back statistics and meet the human resource safety person and simply let them know that workers comp is not about the medical bills but the lack of production that is more costly and proactive classes and conservative chiropractic care is a solution   Doctor, I can go on and on. If you think your location has been maxed out of new patients, think again   If interested in my Powerpoint classes, I will e-mail it to you for a $50 donation to my local orchestra. I have many, so e-mail me what topic(s) you need and I will get back to you. Or, if you have benefited with my weekly e-mails donate at least $50 to: www.dekalbsymphony.org     |
