It is a great time for some natural popcorn, kale and kelp chips with organic salsa watching the presidential, senate and house races coming to a head in less than twenty days with results either on Nov 3 or a few days later. Today, we are a polarized society and without getting into the mud, I leave politics out of my e-mail, other than politics of chiropractic.
I remember when I graduated Chiropractic College in 1978 as a fresh puppy attempting to make a few bucks, I was a warrior dedicated to truth, justice and the chiropractic way. I parted the sea for a subluxation and stood my ground while discussing philosophy with the other side. The debates between straights and mixers with a blender thrown in here and there made politics of today tame by comparison. But, it was fun and solidified each stance making us all better doctors.
But collectively we all fought the insurance companies for some meager crumbs, we attempted to manage and sustain and hopefully expand our patient base and grew into business professionals while managing a life outside our professional walls. Too often wasted energy was expelled discussing what some deemed the only way to practice while others extended their reach helping those that crossed their path.
Political debates are healthy when you begin to realize and tighten areas that are revealed weak and then strengthened with practice and patient management. Even amongst like minded doctors there is room for discussion, room to stretch and room to breath life into your practice, staff, patients and community.
Politics is healthy as long as you listen, discuss and do
