Check My Proposal at End Of This Message

E-mail message this week: I retired

Friends after 45 years of active practice, writing in my opinion the longest running blog in the profession, since 1996, and being the ripe age of 77, it is about time to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Too often people decide to wait for that bucket list vacation when they retire only to find that when they do, they may need mobile assistance, have a dreaded disease or worse yet are deceased. Not me, I am mobile, no dreaded disease today and since I am writing this, not deceased.

If you are contemplating selling your practice, as I did, be prepared to wait as it took a while for a bite and then a few more before a serious offer came my way. I am not savvy enough to broker my practice, come up with a reasonable sale fee or navigate the ins and outs of numbers, statistics, square footage and the legal wherewithal, so I hired a broker and she helped tremendously, worth every penny.

I am healthy enough to work a few more years and even thought to have associates or independent contractors but hearing from friends in the field about poor work ethics and matching my practice with personalities of others was too much of a chore, so I decided to go for it and sell. The price was reasonable and the doctor purchasing my gem of an office is excellent and will tend to the garden I grew all these years

I appreciate all the years writing these weekly e-mails and the feedback I receive as it goes to 3200 addresses in over 20 countries with an average of 700 folks opening them up each week but all good things come to an end.

Many of you have benefitted from these e-newsletters either as a kick in the butt to do something different, a bit of advice to jumpstart a practice or just plain motivation. Now that I am living on my savings rather than earnings, I have an idea as well as a way to keep my head in the game and continue to help others.

As you can see, I like to write. Many of you don’t or have limited time or headspace but would like to provide sound advice to your patients and community as I have for many years with my Monday patient/community e-newsletters that reach 2200 people.

Progressive healthcare companies often provide online advice with timely blogs or direct customer contact via e-newsletters. For one, it maintains company awareness as well as promotions during the year. The purpose of my weekly e-newsletters to you and my patients is constant contact. In my case, since I can check the number of people opening it as well as the links, I am assured there is relevancy and impact and often creates referrals as they are forwarded to others and dependent on the theme, such as ergonomics, it opens a discussion that week in my office which stimulates networking and awareness. Great tool if used effectively by doctor and staff.

My Proposal

So, if you have a database of patient and community e-mails (if not begin collecting them as they are a goldmine) start sending a weekly or twice a month e-newsletter to them with a chiropractic, health oriented, holiday or seasonal theme. If you haven't the time or desire to do so, I can write it, research it, add Google and Youtube links as well as relevant media and add whatever is relevant to you and your community, similar to the ones found on the link above.

I will help you get started. Review a few of mine below that can be edited and be relevant to your practice, your community and your promotions. Awareness builds success and in our business awareness brings new patients, maintains established ones, reactivates previous patients and more important creates networking to expand your business as well.

If interested, reply back to: joel3639@aol.com for further details but the fee is $200 to get started and $100 per e-newsletter which takes, on average, over two hours to create. I think the price is fair

I cannot tell you how often I get positive feedback and if you add personal information about your office, community, recall or referral concepts, it’s off to the races

So, Give This Some Thought

Next week will be my last e-mail a..  it’s been a great ride
