E-mail message this week .. Small Things

In the hustle and bustle of daily practice, we often forget that smaller things create the bigger picture. For example, focusing on new patients without honing in on maintaining those we have is no small thing. Gearing up for the next big event without acknowledging the small details also is no small thing. Sending a bill to a delinquent patient may sound like a big project but the small detail of patient financial responsibilities from the get go was also no small thing. Hiring a new staff member to accomplish a big job without spending small quality time during quantity training results in no small thing and spending oodles of dough with vendors for the next big toy without realizing the need is no small thing but a further drain on your bottom line.

Doctor, what small things are you forgetting? Have you sent daily short notes to cooperative and compilable patients thanking them for the privilege of assisting them in health and wellness? Have you called each new patient the day of his or her first visit to see how they are doing and if they have questions?  Are you asking for referrals and opportunities to share chiropractic within your community? Are you educating visit by visit expecting duplication of each new and established patient? Doctor, these small things are not trivial, nay, they are fundamental for the matrix that binds successful practices to each another. It’s the small details that make the picture perfect, the shades and colors, a mish mash of small pixels that create the hues of beauty creating the whole beautiful picture .. a successful and efficient practice.

Small things are patient birthday cards, timely e-newsletters, reminder cards, churning lost patient files for reactivation and most important staff meetings with small details discussed in a big way. How many other small details can have you forgotten?

Forget the small things at practice peril

 Have a Great Day
