Friends, the complex world of healthcare will be evolving soon once discussions become serious concerning the food and pharmaceutical industries. Robert Kennedy, Jr., whether you like him or not, has prompted the media to peel away layers of truths and falsehoods concerning imbedded chemicals within animal feed, common breakfast and processed foods as well as medication and vaccinations. All have impacted our health creating rampant chronic disease.
I tread lightly here not to offend those on the political right or left but many of us now question mainline media, talking heads and editorials from folks we trusted in the past. In other words, we are confused and this extends to the general public, our patients, who will be searching for "truths."
I hope you own the "truth" and have a strong belief in our product, the chiropractic adjustment. We reduce neurological stress as well as enhance personal performance while increasing joint mobility, provide health and wellness advice with rehabilitative programs and nutritional guidance.
So, what can you do now to be ahead of the game and ride the wave that may be a healthcare tsunami. This is the perfect time to promote your office by enhancing your Health and Wellness brand as well as incorporate community awareness. Do you have a brand?
In my day, spinal screenings, health fairs and ergonomic/stress/nutrition/wellness classes were amongst the various ways to increase patient volume and your bottom line. Meeting and Greeting your community created awareness and left the best impression in town. This begins establishing a brand
If you are satisfied with your level of success, keep it up. If you use the services of a consultant follow their lead and always keep your eyes and ears open to new ideas from successful colleagues.  But, if practice management has not been your forte and your office is overwhelmed with your established and few new patients, or you and your staff are at full emotional and physical capacity, you may wish to stimulate your practice with some of these ideas noted above. There is nothing better than stimulating an idea than action. Creating a brand is as simple as establishing yourself as the chiropractor in town offering sound health and wellness advice and best results with fantastic adjustments
I recommend you begin educating yourself on the healthcare crisis and be prepared to offer advice and a chiropractic conservative alternative. Begin with weekly staff meetings, even for 15 minutes between yourself and one staff member getting them on speed with the dilemma and how your office will provide nutritional guidance, rehabilitative services and specific chiropractic treatment plans that incorporate some or all of it.
There is so much more details for implementation but if what you read so far has stimulated you to think beyond the box then go for it. Take this period between Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year to introduce new ideas with take home handouts, increased patient e-mails, office health oriented classes and promoting patient referrals for a healthier New Year.
How do you vision this next year, anything new, a new technique for specific issues, a few classes to get you up to speed, more time meeting and greeting and asking for referrals, finding time to educate staff and patients and hopefully time for yourself with some extra dough to work with.

Start with an in-office food/toy/clothe drive. If you have local media or a Facebook page, be sure to let them know and keep your media presence throughout the next few weeks.  The community needs to know who and where you are. A Giving and Sharing office helps and this is a simple way to start. This is how you create a brand

A healthcare tsunami is coming, don't get sucked in, be on top of it
