A person not committed to a program or idea will see it wane on the vine. This is so true with chiropractic business. Yes, we are in a business to reach and hold onto the hearts, minds and spines of everyone passing by your office, either on foot, in a vehicle or providing service. Business requires basic concepts to succeed of which commitment to deed far exceeds thought. It requires follow through of ideas more than plans on paper. It deserves goals and action steps with understandable and agreeable staff willing to see it to fruition. Doctor, your full attention is required to be a successful business and there is no better time than today, not yesterday or next week.   The psyche is too fragile to allow you alone to be accountable for the project to succeed. A bad work day, past due personal and business bills still pending, a patient not responding and demanding results, an attorney paying a portion of your hard earned services, insurance asking again to resubmit, not to mention personal crisis’s of infinite to major proportions can stop forward progress. It is easy to see how your full or partial attention to every detail of business is dependent on the demands of the day dampening enthusiasm.   So, what is a wise businessperson to do to maintain the best attention towards success? I recommend diluting the responsibility by sharing office goals with staff and allowing them to be accountable for their area of responsibility as well as accountable to each other. Full attention is made easier with regularly planned and well-managed staff meetings. Office statistics, patient and financial concerns should be discussed as well as review of previous ideas and due dates. Being on top of ideas and asking those in a responsible role where they are, what they need, who can help and when their goals will be met is a best way to make things happen. Doctor, remember to use your skills as a healer to heal while sharing with others the goals of business.   This will demand your full attention     Have A Great Day Joel E.
