Above every dark cloud is a sun drenched sky. How you look and react to circumstances above and beyond your control dictates your future. Since the corona virus, even though years ago, an economic cloud has covered the world and the best of financial brains took a while to get a grip on it until the all clear signal sounded and life and commerce opened up again, some have never recovered.

Still, financial credit is being squeezed and family elective expenses are still being scrutinized. Our economy is a work in progress so unless you are in heavy denial, your community's financial stress will affect you one way or other. So, to make lemonade from a huge lemon, let’s explore how we can use these trying times to better assist our communities and our pockets.

First, the one button that most folks understand is Stress. In fact, this is the most requested Powerpoint presentation I sell. No doubt the psychological community has various coping programs but they never get into the other four components of stress that goes beyond the emotional and we have the opportunity to manage with our chiropractic care.

They are Physical, we can relate and offer sage advice to handle this, Chemical, time to discuss nutrition and the polluted bodyNeurological, this one is our baby and Physiological, the ultimate scrooge to health and wellness via the subluxation complex. Stress is an all-inclusive provider; it gives and takes from all.

We chiropractors, advocates of reducing neurological and physical stress and advocates of wellness with nutritional and adjusted daily living advice, are a one-stop shop of wellness before, during and after hard times. It’s now a matter of education and value and the game is getting the message out.

A common theme in all my e-newsletters for any marketing endeavor is education. The more your patient/community realizes that you are a solution solver and the value of your service is outstanding they will flock to you and refer others. Whether you use posters, placards, outdoor signs, give talks, screenings or just hand out your cards, a little extra effort and thought will reap huge rewards. The theme for the moment is Stress and how it affects physical and emotional performance, well-being and demeanor.

Have a staff meeting, patient focus groups and decide the best approach for your community. Start with patient classes/workshops then branch out with ergonomic programs discussing the five components of stress to your patients, corporations and community. Use your social media presence to introduce these concepts and gathering interest with in office or remote zoom meetings. Create a short survey form for each patient to complete to determine their interest in these programs and best times for your zoom classes and use patient e-mails to reach as many folks as possible to gather this information as well

Word will get out you are a solution for an insidious and dangerous thing, Stress.
