Life University, like all colleges has an active alumni program, I was in their class of 1978. All strive to reach their alumni providing networking, matching docs with opportunities, keeping up with CE credit programs further enhanced with on-line services, Facebook entries and more. If you are a graduate, I hope you and your office information is included in their webpage so other graduates can refer to you. After reading this, search your college alumni association webpage and get involved

We veterans know that years within the womb of Chiropractic College was only a taste of what was needed in the real world. Every practice differs by location, philosophy and finesse of the doctor, staff coaching and some luck based on proper choices. But a common thread that binds us together is simply the will to succeed.

Besides joining your alumni association, you should also be a member of your state and district associations, not to mention the ACA or ICA. They should offer support as well as a reference for referrals. But a strong college alumni group should have state and regional members that support their school reaching out for prospective students and possibly holding timely meetings. Alumni associations must also be a well of information with doctor and teacher blogs, regional practice tips and general answers to challenges facing many who previously walked through their corridors of learning. Leaving no graduate behind must be their credo as precise as a military mission; no graduate should be left in the battlefield without help to succeed. This is not a far leap, real time practice is similar to a field of battle for community minds, patient and insurance payments, patient awareness, practice and staff management, technical updates, public relations and marketing as well as the daily hurdles bringing and maintaining success. Again, it’s not by luck one succeeds and the other struggles, it is by design and choices. Having a full deck of knowledge while walking within the successful path of others gets us to the goal for sure.

Now let’s take it to your patient alumni your present and past patients, especially those you helped in the past and not returned. Do you have an active program for them such as a timely e-newsletter, an active website with various resources and a recall system reminding them to maintain their health and wellness. Be creative and promote your office with timely patient events and workshops bringing your patient alumni back for more knowledge and care. Educate and educate some more resulting in referrals and a stress less practice

An alumnus is not a person lost in space. Be as creative as your graduating school alumni association seeking to meet and greet those that passed their school threshold and need to do so again.

Reactivation is the art of recreating the past and making it even better

Life alumni association chose me as the alumni of the week June 30. Here was my video, I hope it helps:
