E-mail message this week .. Communicating With Your Community

 

This e-mail will be reaching over 4800 chiropractors in 35 countries. I have been sending free weekly e-mail since 1997, possibly the oldest running blog in the chiropractic profession. That’s a powerful testament to the Internet and its ability to reach someone in a split second. You are my chiropractic community.

 

So, are you doing the same with your patients and community? Have you designated a staff member or found time to gather useful data on nutrition, ergonomics, stress management and shared the opportunities with chiropractic care? I suspect many of you have not created e and snail mail address books of local professionals, such as healthcare providers, attorneys, civic and church officials as well as members of your corporate community. These advocates have influence and may be a resource for those needing your care. Yes, it does take effort and time to gather data and contacts but once in place time will be minimal with substantial results.

 

As you can imagine, I receive various replies per week and attempt to answer them all. Besides the postings, doctors finding difficulties managing their practices seek my opinion and I often connect them with others having the best answers. A common theme is frustration with patient acquisition and maintaining office momentum. A common answer is renewing excitement and purpose of the adjustment. Energy generates activity and lack of it stifles practice and personal growth. If you want to recharge your office and boost your excitement, begin by communicating the chiropractic story with your patients first and your community next. Also, recharge your level of technical prowess. Be assured that your adjustments and adjunctive services are up to date and you have the confidence in your abilities. Spend some time on the Internet searching topics to share with others and time with colleagues to share with each other.

 

During this covid world pandemic, it is more important than ever to communicate with your patients and community. Take a week or more to gather e-mail addresses of as many patient and community members you can. Begin the process of writing a health and wellness message with chiropractic, nutrition and exercise as the main theme. Begin sending weekly e-mails to them and include links to articles and videos you searched to include these topics. I send weekly e-mails to my patient and community list, which total about 2200 people. I send these chiropractic e-mails to about 4800 each Friday and to my patient base on Mondays so I am busy all week preparing and sending. This past Monday, within hours of sending them, by the way Amazon will send the list out for you for very little money, 550 people opened the e-mail and they shared it with others in Ethiopia, France, Greece, Israel and Portugal .. pretty cool.
