Practice Intensity   I recently came across an article that focused on success. It mentioned that professional competition drove winners ahead of losers, separating the two, was intensity. Intensity that kept the engines hot and the gears focused on forward movement. Intensity that kept the manager attuned to their employees for quality, quantity and service. Intensity of marketing that propels the motors and oils the flames that kept the business booming. Related to our business, the chiropractic business, do you have the intensity to win and more important, to maintain success.   Intensity includes financial success. Patient results motivate the chiropractor with increased income reflecting multiple wins. Quality care, reducing their pain, rehabilitation to decrease spinal danger and spinal maintenance should motivate the patient and have them more apt to refer. Can you provide this service with the momentum and intensity required for such a patient with the goal to reach those near and dear to them. I hope so. The poor chiropractor’s road is riddled with left behind patients, the walking wounded who were provided half ass care, adhered to insurance dictated treatment plans and allowed to leave the office with marginal relief and a “come back when you need” attitude. The reflection is not on the patient but the doctor who provided lack luster patient education, poorly trained staff and a weak dedication to their craft and purpose.   If intensity keeps you clued to office statistics and patient results, it will alert you to patient procedures that were either missed or forgot. It would alert you to missed opportunities to promote referrals and increased services. Patient finances and scheduling would fall right in place for their immediate intensive care, stabilization and most important maintenance. The doctor that sees the Big Picture looks at their patients as a challenge. How to motivate an educated and referral based person, how to reach beyond them to who they know at work, play and church and how to maintain the intensity necessary to get them well, get them to do their spinal homework and watch others witness their results and want a piece of it    Keeping your eye on the tiger will keep your practice intensity strong   Have A Great Day   Joel E.
