I remember my boot camp days at Fort Dix, New Jersey where civilians were whipped into shape within a short period of time creating a cohesive cadre of soldiers ready to do the bidding along the chain of command. 

I also remember my early days at Sherman College, where docs like Reggie and Irene Gold, Joe Flesia and Easy Riekeman drummed into our hard allopathic heads the deductive rationale of chiropractic philosophy. It was this springboard that I took to Life College where Sid Williams and the philosophy of Dynamic Essentials locked me into a mindset that paved my future in our profession

Philosophy and chiropractic politics aside, straight, mixer or blender docs like me took their bag of tricks and hands on skills to every patient they met with the ultimate goal to make their lives better, can we all agree to that. The energy spent to fight the fight between the chiropractic Hatfield and McCoys, was energy poorly spent. Yes, defending the small sacred turf allowed by state legislation was necessary but considering the climate of chiropractic today, it would have been best to sort out the wrinkles between the associations and worked closer together. 

Doctor, the big picture is to capture the moment and defend what is our right and that is to be well and choose how we proceed towards that goal. Your chiropractic, whether pure to the core or more inclusive should be shared with your patients and community and your services aimed towards their Health and Wellness.
